The Holy Qur’an is the loftiest, most concise, and most truthful Word of all times.
It is the most read, most lived, and throughout history the book that has influenced humanity the most. Though approached differently by its friends and its enemies, it is nevertheless the most spoken-about book of all.
All these qualities are among the clearest signs that it is a superhuman Word—indeed, the Word of God. For which human work, which statement, or which achievement has there been that was not surpassed by something newer, better, or more appealing after a certain time? Human beings possess many traits such as weariness, curiosity, attraction to novelty, and an inclination toward renewal; they constantly seek and follow what is newer and better. This shows that the truth is so clear that nothing can cast doubt on the lofty station of the Holy Qur’an. As expressed in the Risale-i Nur:
“As time grows old, the Qur’an grows younger.”
The Book Revealed to Muhammad al-Amīn (peace be upon him)
The Holy Qur’an was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), who—by the consensus of friend and foe alike—was known as trustworthy, reliable, truthful, and faithful to his word. A person who shows absolute loyalty to whatever is entrusted to him, without distinction between friend and enemy, weak and strong, would certainly be faithful to every word and every letter. He was a man of infinite honesty in his mission, never answering questions on his own when he did not know, but waiting for revelation from God. It is inconceivable that such a person—who loved the Lord of the Worlds beyond measure and feared His punishment more than anyone—could show any disloyalty to His Word.
As stated in the Risale-i Nur: “The One who creates knows; the One who knows speaks.”
The ground beneath our feet, the vast heavens above us, and all that they contain—from subatomic particles moving at staggering speeds to celestial bodies traversing the cosmos—have each been created particle by particle and placed precisely in their respective orbits. The sun is positioned there, the Earth here, with the most delicate and exact calculations.
The Earth has been adorned with countless plants and animals, each entrusted with innumerable duties and equipped with remarkable faculties. Humanity, too, has been welcomed as a guest, endowed with extraordinary emotions and abilities, and appointed as both a companion and a steward among these creatures.
The One Who Makes All Creation Speak Will Also Speak
The Creator will certainly speak to the humans He has created; indeed, He has spoken—and He has continued to speak through the books He sent so that His address would remain permanent in every place, at every time, and in every age.
How could the Lord of the Worlds—who knows all human actions, desires, and emotions through His infinite knowledge and power, and who speaks accordingly—tolerate or permit the alteration of His Word?
Would the Lord of the Worlds, who perfectly orders everything from cellular processes to subatomic particles, from stars to the balance and orbits of planets, leave the meaning, wording, and expression of the Holy Qur’an—which regulates the truth and mission of both the universe and humanity—to human hands? He would not—and He has not.
The World of Trial and Objections
In this world of trial, objections and doubts cause some to falter in their spiritual lives, while they increase the faith of others—provided that one reads and investigates properly.
In reality, these doubts and objections should not be underestimated or regarded as trivial; they are more widespread than they appear.
The primary mission of the Risale-i Nur is to rescue believers from doubts and to preserve their faith.
Within the Risale-i Nur, there are truths and explanations capable of convincing people from every level of understanding, presented through diverse perspectives. From Divine condescensions (Tenezzülât-ı İlâhî) to the station of guidance; from the interconnections between verses and words and those that precede and follow them, to metaphors and parables; from the subtleties of Arabic verb tenses to the insights of grammatical masters—many principles and issues are explained as foundational cornerstones.
As stated: “At every point of objection, flashes of miraculousness have been displayed.”
These sections need to be read and studied more frequently. Today, more than ever, there is a profound need for the true and authentic exegesis of the Wise Qur’an.
